On February 17th 2023, in order to facilitate composing Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER) for AACSB International Accreditation, SFB invited Prof. WANG Xiaoguang from Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance to hold a training seminar on iSER writing. The seminar was held in Room 201, Block D, Building of SFB SHNU (Xuhui Campus), with the attendance of SFB executive team, faculty and staff involved in work of pursuing AACSB accreditation.
Prof. WANG explained in detail necessary preparation for iSER, including the development of strategic plan, the progress of AoL and curricula improvement, the establishment of faculty qualification and classification criteria, the creation of intellectual contribution portfolio, the participation of key stakeholders, etc. Prof. WANG emphatically pointed out situations to avoid when composing iSER, and gave valuable advice on emphases in documents needed for iSER.
During the seminar, SFB’s faculty members listened attentively and interacted actively with Prof. WANG, and put forward many ideas and raised questions on iSER writing, and stated practical difficulties they had encountered during preparation of iSER. Prof. WANG patiently listened and responded.
After the seminar, Professor LIU Jianghui, Dean of SFB expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prof. WANG and said SFB’s executive team, faculty and staff had learned a lot during this seminar, and would complete iSER in full force. After this seminar, SFB’s executive team, faculty and staff have developed a comprehensive and more in-depth understanding of iSER, which will definitely better prepare SFB for the 'climbing' stage of pursuing AACSB accreditation, and lay a solid foundation for future stages of relevant work.
