SFB Held Virtual Meeting with AACSB International Accreditation Mentor

13:30 on October 12th 2022, SFB held a virtual meeting with Professor Remen Chun-Wei Lin, Official Mentor of AACSB International Accreditation and Dean of the College of Management at Asia University to exchange information and discuss about SFB’s progress pursuing AACSB International Accreditation. Participants of the meeting include SFB leadership, 13 program chairs as well as faculty and staff involved in work of pursuing AACSB accreditation. At beginning of the meeting, SFB Dean LIU Jianghui expressed his gratitude to Professor Chun-Wei R. Lin for taking the time to instruct SFB’s AACSB accreditation work, and hoped that Professor Lin would give detailed guidance on SFB’s work in pursuit of AACSB International Accreditation.





During the meeting, the Mentor gave eight professional suggestions, covering an array of aspects in SFB’s AACSB accreditation process: the accreditation management platform adopted by SFB, the relevancy of SFB’s mission to SHNU’s mission, the philosophy of designing indicators like Competency Goals (CGs), Learning Objectives (LOs), Rubrics, etc., the guarantee and optimization of the program evaluation mechanism, the production of cycle chart of the Assurance of Learning (AoL) system, the preparation of rules and bylaws such as the code of conduct, etc. After listening to the Mentor’s exhaustive advice, SFB program chairs raised questions about the difficulties and uncertainty in their work, and the Mentor responded in a patient and professional manner.



The virtual meeting lasted for nearly two hours, and all participants regarded this meeting beneficial and rewarding, and thought it would lay a good foundation for SFB to conduct AoL process and compose the Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER). SFB Dean LIU Jianghui expressed sincere thanks to the Mentor for his detailed guidance, and said that SFB would continue to pursue AACSB accreditation according to the Mentor's professional suggestions. In the next stage, SFB will actively follow the Mentor's instructions, gather program chairs as well as faculty and staff involved in work of pursuing AACSB accreditation to promote in-depth discussions, further optimize planning for AoL system, improve relevant assessment mechanisms, produce cycle chart of the AoL system, and continue to facilitate relevant tasks in pursuing AACSB International Accreditation in an orderly manner.
