Recently, School of Finance and Business (SFB) at Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) has officially launched its industry-academia-research cooperation with Deloitte, the world's largest professional services organization. This collaboration fully reflects SFB's abilities to draw on top international brands in professional development and talent cultivation.

Since 2020, SHNU and SFB has been engaging in multiple rounds of interactions and collaborations with Deloitte, and quite a few achievements have been produced: Dr. Norman Sze, Deloitte China Vice Chair and Government & Public Services Leader was appointed as an adjunct professor at SHNU; Mr. WANG Yanlei, Senior Manager of De.InnoScience was elected as Deputy Secretary-General of SFB Alumni Association, and has chaired several current and insightful seminars for SFB students; in addition, De.InnoScience team, Zhejiang Lab, two of SFB faculty members: Associate Professor ZHU Min and Dr. YANG Chengning as well as other participants have collaborated on compilation of “the Affective Computing White Paper” (Chinese version) which has been released globally.

Building upon all these aforementioned collaborations, SFB and Deloitte China have coincided with each other in further integrating knowledge and expertise from both sides, and relying on the professional networks of Deloitte China to promote SFB’s MBA program and other programs. By means of various activities such as courses, lectures, seminars, etc., SFB students -- whether they are studying for an MBA degree or other degrees could have a closer contact with Deloitte China experts and researchers, so as to learn from their professional philosophies and business mindset. Moreover, SFB faculty team will coordinate with Deloitte China experts to jointly create high-quality courses, as well as summarize and analyze benchmark cases, so as to solidly support the development of SFB’s MBA program and to facilitate its progress pursuing AACSB international business accreditation.

Also, De.InnoScience and Deloitte Academy will represent Deloitte China in sharing knowledge and promoting exchanges with SFB students. Specifically, Deloitte Academy will customize online modules for collaboration with SFB and release via “Deloitte Academy” App on both iOS and Android platforms. Meanwhile, De.InnoScience will contribute its multidisciplinary research capabilities to cultivate joint achievements with SFB.

This marks a promising beginning for Deloitte China in exploring opportunities and fostering collaboration with public universities and research institutions. Currently, the De.Talk Project, a weekly student coaching program provided by De.InnoScience for SFB students has been launched and has already received positive feedbacks from students. There are reasons to believe that with continuous progresses of the industry-academia-research cooperation between SFB SHNU and Deloitte China, a strong force will come into sight for both SHNU’s and SFB’s overall development and advancement.
